Hi, I’m Alvin, a data-driven problem solver with a passion for uncovering insights that drive smarter decisions. With a Master of Science in Business (MSB) from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, I’ve built a strong foundation in research, analytics, and systems thinking through over 10 years of studying, working, and living in the US. I specialize in transforming complex data into intuitive, actionable strategies through storytelling, visualization, and well-grounded analysis.
Professionally, I’ve worked across international higher education and marketing research for over 5 years. Most recently, as Deputy Manager of Student Recruitment and Admissions @ American University of Phnom Penh, I leverage my expertise to connect prospective students with their ideal educational journeys. My earlier experience at Navitas involved supporting international student recruitment across more than 50 countries for institutional partners like UMass Boston and Queens College CUNY. There, I designed campaigns, ran events, managed social media, and collaborated across admissions, marketing, and sales teams. Prior to that, as a Research Analyst at the Center for Marketing & Consumer Insights (CMCI), I sharpened my skills in leading projects, analyzing behavioral trends, and translating findings into insights stakeholders could act on.
Now back in the APAC region, I apply what I’ve learned to help institutions achieve their recruitment goals and ensure students find the right fit. I thrive in collaborative, high-energy environments and enjoy making sense of complexity in ways that others can act on.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me lifting weights at the gym, exploring new cities, hiking, or hunting down the best food spots wherever I go. Whether I’m in a strategy session or on the road, I’m always looking to learn something new, and hopefully, share it in a way that creates value for others.
